Newsletter.png

Public health offers a wide range of career opportunities for youth Latinxs, who are passionate about making a difference in our communities. However, limited information is provided to our families to know about this field.

In 2025, We are conducting five workshops to inform parents and youth to know more about:

  1. Community Health Worker (CHW): CHWs play a vital role in connecting communities with health resources and advocating for health equity.

  2. Epidemiologist: For those interested in research and data, epidemiologists study disease patterns and work to prevent outbreaks.

  3. Health Educator: Educators focus on promoting healthy behaviors and creating awareness about public health issues.

  4. Environmental Health Specialist: This role involves addressing environmental factors that impact health, such as water quality and pollution.

  5. Public Health Policy Analyst: Analysts work on developing and implementing policies to improve public health systems.

  6. Emergency Preparedness Coordinator: These professionals plan and respond to public health emergencies, such as natural disasters or pandemics.

  7. Internships and Fellowships: Many organizations, like the CDC, offer internships and training programs for students to explore public health careers.
