Community Health Worker Coalition for Migrants and Refuges is pleased to inform you that our Community Champions are training medical and academic staff in Cultural Humility. We are educating responsible member of different organizations working with multicultural clients in our state. During these interactive training, the participants learn about the neuroscience of culture, the theory of the mind, mirror neuron effect, cultural competence and cultural humility by Drs. Mejia Rodriguez and Ponce-Gonzalez. While, four of our communities’ members: Lorena, Corina, Alan y Margarita acting as interpreters for USA students (US participants) who are registering at a Latin American College.

“Regarding the example, I was frustrated that I did not know what was going on, between the interpreter and the person acting as the staff at the registration”
“I would like this training to be institutional, everyone should have it as the academic level”
“We need you to train our personnel about these issues.
