Reducing Structural Barriers and Health Disparities in Washington State

Social Justice and Health Equity Program defines the CHWCMR's determination to support CHWs to achieve their full potential ( regardless theirs country of origin, physical apparience, health status, sex orientation, occupation, residence, skin color,  religious, spoken language and  naturalization status).


"Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities by National Association of Social Workers."


"Health equity is achieved when every person has the opportunity to “attain his or her full health potential” and no one is “disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.” 


Transportation


Transportation is a structrual barrier faced by many migrants and refugee to get the COVID-19 Vaccine.  Therefore CHWCMR is working with LISC to provide an Uber ride to get vaccinated.


ITIN for all CHWs


Many migrants and refugees are obligated to use also SS; however, they can help them to pay for the cost to get an ITIN number. Thanks to Shen-Yen Lu Fundation. A ITIN number is The ITIN number, helps to file tax returns and pay taxes. People who were earning certain types of income.


Vaccine Accessibility & Health Equity

Petition to Vaccinate the Latinx Community


Latinx Equity Network is leading a statewide initiative to make the COVID-19 vaccine more accessible to the Latinx and Migrant communities while pushing for more healthy equity in Washington. 


Washington Immigrant Relief Funding


CHWCMR joined the effort of hundred organization to to directly assist hundreds of

undocumented Latinx migrants and refugees’ families, affecting severely by the

COVID -19 pandemic. Most of these families were able to get the economic relief

from our governors. CHWCMR was able to support and economic compensate the

assigned CHWs to this project.
