This program is a bilateral effort between CHWCMR and WIC to overcome barriers to the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infarnts, and Children (WIC) participation in the Latinx community in Snohomish County. Improving access to WIC in these underserved communities is a longstanding goal of the WIC Program and will help address health equity gaps. Although WIC has a great and positive impact in our communities, only 33% of the potential WIC population uses the services, due to systemic and historic barriers faced children by underserved communities. More than 12,000 women, infants and qualify for WIC in the county, but thery are not enrolle yet. There and CHWCMR and WIC are now working against health disparities to reaach and enroll everyone who qualifyies to this service.
